Pharmacist-Administered Vaccines in North York

Vaccines are the safest and most effective way to protect yourself and those around you from serious preventable illnesses. At Ultima Pharmacy, our trained and certified pharmacists administer a full range of vaccines for children, adults, and travellers — right in our North York location.

No referral needed. For most vaccines, no appointment is required — simply walk in during pharmacy hours. Some vaccines (including Yellow Fever and certain travel vaccines) require a scheduled appointment through our Travel Clinic.

Personalized Vaccine Review

As we get older, the protection we had from previous vaccination can decrease for some diseases. Getting another dose (called a booster) can increase our immunity to provide the best protection.

We review your medical history, including:

  • What vaccines you had in the past
  • If you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant
  • If you have health conditions
  • Your type of work
  • If you have upcoming travel

Seasonal Flu Shot — Walk In, No Appointment Needed

Get Your Flu Shot at Ultima Pharmacy

The flu shot is recommended every year for nearly everyone 6 months of age and older. Getting vaccinated protects you and those around you, including people who are too young or too ill to receive the vaccine themselves.

At Ultima Pharmacy, flu shots are available by walk-in during pharmacy hours — no appointment, no family doctor visit needed. The flu vaccine is free of charge for all Ontario residents under the publicly funded program.
*Subject to vaccine availability.

Shingles Vaccine (Shingrix) — Available at Our Pharmacy

Shingles (herpes zoster) is a painful condition caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus. It affects approximately 1 in 3 Canadians during their lifetime, with risk increasing significantly after age 50.

Shingrix, the two-dose shingles vaccine, is highly effective (90%+) and recommended for all adults 50 and older, and for immunocompromised adults 18 and older.

The Shingrix vaccine is available at Ultima Pharmacy.

Ontario coverage: Shingrix is covered at no charge for eligible seniors under the Ontario government's publicly funded program. Ask our pharmacist if you qualify.

Planning to Travel?

If you have upcoming international travel, standard pharmacy vaccines may not be enough. Our dedicated Travel Clinic provides comprehensive pre-travel health consultations, destination-specific vaccine recommendations, and travel medications.

We are one of the few certified pharmacies in North York authorized to issue the Official International Certificate of Vaccination (ICVP) for Yellow Fever — required for entry to many countries in Africa and South America.
